Yoga on the beach is a creative and soothing way to watch the sunrise while connecting and transforming our body, mind and spirit through this fascinating practice. I have created this small section to quickly explain the benefits and why the beach and yoga combine so well. Let’s see it
Why do yoga on the beach?
What better than mixing an activity that you like with an environment as pleasant as the beach? Doing yoga in these types of places, listening to the soft coming and going of the waves as well as having a soft ground encourages you to have better results, explore with your yoga poses and breathing, and connect with nature.
Sand is an excellent shock absorber for falls, so exercises involving postures with balance and transitions between the arms and legs will be done with greater confidence. With this we do not mean to tell you not to be careful when practicing yoga on the sand. Joint sprains are always a risk that is present whenever the exercise is not done properly. But it is also an ideal factor to encourage you to raise your level and intensity. The beach is really excellent to practice and learn new exercises.
In addition to the above, it is an ideal place to do yoga in the summer season or when you go on vacation and do not want to lose your routine. Of course, avoid the hottest hours. If you are going to do it, try to do it preferably in the morning before the sun gets too hot or in the afternoon when most of them are gone.
What are the top 3 benefits of practicing yoga at the beach?
In addition to all the benefits we already know about exercise, yoga on the beach gives you these 3 unique benefits:
1) Better oxygenation: The beach is one of the best natural environments to breathe clean air. Remember that yoga is closely linked to breathing. Therefore, you are not only improving your breathing technique but also what you breathe.
2) Increased production of vitamin D: The sun is a great stimulant for the production of vitamin D in the body.
3) Plus of the natural environment: The coming and going of the waves, the feeling of the sand under your feet, the dim light of the sunrise. All this together makes practicing yoga a more pleasant experience than ever and frees you from stress.
With this last benefit of yoga on the beach we have concluded this section. We can only ask you to enjoy the peace and tranquility of an environment as unique as the sea horizon while the soft light of the morning sun reflects on your face. Practice your asanas on the beach with a greater degree of tranquility and fullness that only the beach can give you.
